Lower quality usually means a smaller file. Try 80 to start.
JPG replaces transparent areas with white. Compression is lossy. Animated images export a single still frame. File size savings vary.

Less file size, with a quality tradeoff
JPG and WebP reduce file size by discarding some visual detail. Start with quality 80, then lower it if a smaller download matters more. Always check the downloaded image before replacing your original.
PNG images become WebP by default, keeping transparent areas. Choose JPG for broad photo compatibility; its background is white wherever the source was transparent.
Compression keeps the pixel dimensions unchanged. For an image that is also smaller in width and height, try Resize Image.
